Our guides should make equipment easier to compare without losing the details that determine whether it fits.
Set a clear buying question
Articles should define the equipment need and intended reader. A first kit, a replacement component and a larger extraction setup require different comparisons. Explain who each recommendation suits and when another option may be more appropriate.
Identify exact components and packages
Model names, dimensions, frame formats, garment sizes and included quantities should be accurate. Distinguish assembled kits from parts and optional extras. Buying links should match the exact product discussed.
Use sources for the questions they answer
Manufacturer documentation is preferred for dimensions, compatibility, materials, supported uses and care requirements. Retail listings help establish the package offered. Customer feedback may raise useful questions, but does not establish controlled test results.
Direct testing and personal experience must only be described when they actually occurred. Research-based content must not invent hive inspections, ownership, extraction sessions or measured performance. Advertised claims should remain distinguishable from independent observations.
Consider ownership as well as price
Fit, cleaning, storage, assembly, replacement parts and support can affect value. An affiliate relationship, popularity or an extensive accessory bundle is not enough to establish suitability. Important limitations should be easy to find.
Disclose commercial relationships
Affiliate links may support the publication. Sponsorships, supplied products and other material relationships should be disclosed in the relevant coverage. Compensation does not justify hiding a drawback or linking to a different package.
Keep corrections useful
Product revisions and package contents may change. Updates should address information that affects a buying decision, rather than merely changing a date. Send the article URL, exact model and a supporting source to contact@beekeepingequipment.blog.
Respect the scope of the site
This publication covers equipment selection. It does not replace hands-on training, local beekeeping guidance or expert advice on colony health. Follow the product instructions and applicable requirements when using equipment.
